Picture the scene.
A windy 25th March 2023.
Location: A Barn at Duston Mill, outskirts of Northampton.
An optimistic His Day team arrived at the venue ready to put on a show.
Experiential suppliers. An eclectic mix of suppliers for the groom to get involved with.
AND OUR GROOMS COULDN'T WAIT TO GET INVOLVED.
We had a blast. 164 grooms, best men, father of the bride's, father of the groom's, sons, daughters, mums, dads, brides, same-sex (gay and lesbian) and their dogs came to revel in the fun that a wedding festival has to offer!
What is a 'Wedding Festival'?
We've all been to wedding fairs. Always in the same stuffy environment, typically a 'typical' wedding venue, stately home or something similar.
The bride will get a glass of prossecco, you'll get a shiny bag full of glossy brochures and as you walk around in a circle not being spoken to (As a groom). You will probably see the same kinds of suppliers and similar ideas of what you can have at your wedding as you've seen before.
This was our experience from wedding fairs, hence why we set up His Day to do it a bit differently, and our first 'Festival' encapsulated everything we dreamt it could be!
FUN suppliers who offer you an experience.
DIFFERENT suppliers who you may not even have known existed or could be done at a wedding.
VARIETY in suppliers, with a maximum of 2 of any type of wedding vendor
EXPERIENCE over selling, our suppliers will give you an experience, not try to sell you something.
FESTIVAL vibes, great music, good food, great drinks, and chilled!
What People had to say:
'A great vibe, really relaxed, friendly suppliers. This is way more enjoyable than other fairs we've been to' - Groom
'We loved it, great music and a chilled out atmosphere, perfect way to spend an afternoon' - Bride
'So many suppliers that we didn't even know you could have a wedding!' - Father-of-the-Groom
'Hands down the best fair I have EVER been to, from the minute we arrived Anna and David greeted us like old friends, the atmosphere was fantastic, there was a festival vibe the whole day and I have never seen couples arrive in their droves from the minute the fair opened.
It was clear from the other suppliers that were there they had really thought about who would appeal to the grooms and again it showed by the amount of guests that stayed to enjoy the food, music and entertainment on offer.' - Kate Peto, Lucky Penny Weddings
It was a pleasure to be a part of this brilliant day, with a great variety of suppliers. You provided us with food and drink, which is always appreciated and lots of great couples with their friends and family. - Emma DB Photography
We couldn't believe the positive reaction from guests and suppliers alike. It's inspired us at His Day so much to push for more 'festivals' across the country. So stay tuned to see so much more.
